💥SHELTER FOR A LIGHTBEARER💥

MY SHELTER
by Ruby Azraq-Abu Sada (Christian tour guide in Jerusalem and beyond)

The sirens cry across the sky,
And fire walks the night
Missiles carve their restless paths
Through darkness without light.
My house has no deep shelter,
No iron door to hide behind.
Only walls that softly tremble
When the distant skies unwind.
The streets grow silent under fear,
The air is tight with dread.
The world outside is restless,
With shadows overhead.
But in the quiet of my heart
Another kingdom stands—
A fortress not of stone or steel,
But built by gentle hands.
The Lord is still my shelter,
My refuge and my guide.
When storms surround my fragile home,
He gathers me inside.
He is the tower in the darkness,
The shepherd of my way.
He walks beside my trembling steps
And turns my night to day.
Where bombs may fall like thunder
And the earth may shake with flame,
His peace flows like a river
Whispering my name.
He leads me to still waters
No war can ever find.
A hidden field of quiet grace
Deep within the mind.
So let the sky be restless,
Let the iron voices roar—
My soul is held in stronger arms
Than any earthly door.
For though my home has no shelter
That human hands could build
My heart rests in the fortress
Where every fear is stilled.

Thank you for your encouraging reminder that God is in control, and that He is able to do far more than we ask of think. (Ephesians 3:20-21)
