One subscriber says this about her Word for 2026:
I have finally settled on "Tone." I want to focus on and replicate the tone of Jesus. It is directly related to the word in many ways. How can I express love, convey words that heal and guide, yet express the need for God's way over the world’s way of living? I want my attitude towards others to be conveyed through my choice of words and how they are spoken to mimic Christ's tone. This was a very thought-provoking exercise. The timing has helped me shape my New Year's resolutions around my faith.
Check your "tone" today. Is it encouragine and loviing? Does it shine the light of Jesus into another? 🎶

WORD FOR TODAY: JUDGING
“Don’t pick on people, jump on their failures, criticize their faults—unless, of course, you want the same treatment. Don’t condemn those who are down; that hardness can boomerang” Luke 6:37 MSG).
Judging a person doesn’t define who they are; it defines who we are. What we see in others depends on the clarity of our own lens.
1. We often don’t know all the facts. Each person has a story that we haven’t read yet.
2. We are not perfect. We don’t even know our own faults and blind spots. Instead we become “speck inspectors.”

🌡️“A person is the product of his own thoughts. Thoughts for the thermostat which regulates what we accomplish in life. My body responds and reacts to the input from my mind. If I feed my mind with doubt, worry and discouragement, that is precisely the kind of day I will experience. If I adjust my thermostat forward—to thoughts filled with vision, hope and victory—I can count on that kind of day. You and I become what we think about.” ~from “Killing Giants/Pulling Thorns” by Charles R. Swindoll.
🌡️ Check out the book “Give Me a Word,” released in late November by Christine Valters Paintner. There are lots of exercises to help you find your word.
