❓LIGHTBEARER: DECISIONS❓
“Whatever is true, …noble,…right, …pure,…lovely,…,excellent,…admirable,…praiseworthy, think about such things” (Philippians 4:8 NIV edited).
A watchword that keeps coming to me in sermons, devotions, blogs, and other guidelines for living our best Christian life is “Do the next right thing.”
That sounds simple enough, but how do we know what is right among the choices and urgencies that confront us moment by moment?
In our secular culture, the classic four-way test for decisions is this:
· Is it the TRUTH?
· Is it FAIR to all concerned?
· Will it build GOODWILL and BETTER FRIENDSHIPS?
· Will it be BENEFICIAL to all concerned?
As LightBearers, we can pause and go a step further to hold up each option to an in-depth Biblical perspective with the Philippians 4:8 test.
IS IT:
· True
· Noble
· Right
· Pure
· Lovely
· Excellent
· Admirable
· praiseworthy
PRAYER: Lord, help us to stand on the solid ground of your Word for the moment-by-moment choices and decisions we make each day. AMEN
