SOLSTICE LIGHTBEARERS

“And God said, ‘Let there be light.’ And there was light” (Genesis 1:3 NIV).

The Summer Solstice. The longest continuous period of light in our calendar year. A time to celebrate the second thing God spoke into existence after He created the heavens and the earth.

Light brings to mind wisdom, not folly; good, not evil; awareness, not ignorance.

Light shines from the sun on the outside of our bodies.

Light shines from the Son on the inside in our spirits.

“Here’s another way to put it: “We’re here to be light, bringing out the God-colors in the world” (Matthew 5:14 MSG).

The light is also meant to shine from within us to others. That’s what a LightBearer is wired for!

PRAYER: Lord of Light, Illuminate us with your Holy Spirit so that your light radiates from us to brighten the darkness of the world. AMEN
