I needed it as a life preserver today.
I was sinking in self-pity and self-doubt. My book proposal was thrown overboard by a literary agent. I had worked so hard for months to make it float and it was dragging my hopes underwater with it as it burbled below the waves.
Then God reminded me that it's NOT about me BUT about His life-saving plan for me.
The waves of disappointment smoothed out as I remembered all the storms He had calmed in the past and His promise to keep doing that.
When you pass through the waters I will be with you; and through the rivers, they shall not overwhelm you (Isaiah 43:2 RSV).
