IRISES AMID THE VIRUSES

It’s barely May and my irises are already blooming. These gorgeous “flags” are waving high beside my rock wall NOW!

Don’t they know there’s a corona virus global outbreak?

Don’t they know they should be trembling in fear instead of waving with joy?

Don’t they know they should be hiding behind the wall instead of standing watch?

As I look at this royal purple procession (BTW, purple is the first iris color to bloom), I see them as beautiful, regal WatchWomen on the Wall.

Choosing to call on God in praise and be glad.

Giving encouragement to others in their circle of influence.

Focusing not on circumstances but on the power of prayer.

The Lord answered, “I myself will go with you, and I will give you victory” (Exodus 33:14).

Lord, Thank you for these symbols of your mercy and grace and inspiration. Spring is here and it is a time to celebrate with flags flying!

Amen
